Mexico Manufacturing Sector Signals Ongoing Pessimism in June

Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence declined to 49.3 in June 2025, down slightly from a downwardly revised 49.4 in May, marking a return to contraction and the fourth consecutive month below the 50-point threshold, signaling persistent pessimism. The decline was driven by weaker perceptions of the company’s current economic situation (51.3 vs. 52.0 in May) and its future outlook (56.6 vs. 57.4). On a more positive note, there were modest improvements in sentiment regarding the current timing for investment (37.5 vs. 37.1), the present economic situation of the country (48.4 vs. 48.3), and the country’s future economic outlook (52.7 vs. 52.6).
