Polish Inflation Revised Slightly Down to 4% in May

Poland’s annual inflation rate was revised slightly down to 4% in May 2025 from an initial estimate of 4.1%, compared to 4.3% in the previous month. This marked the lowest level since June 2024 amid slower price increases for housing and utilities (10.6% vs 10.8% in April), health (4.9% vs 5.3%), communication (2.8% vs 3.5%), recreation and culture (3.4% vs 3.6%), restaurants and hotels (5.9% vs 6.1%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2% vs 2.2%). At the same time, transport costs dropped further (-7.2% vs -5.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in May, confirming preliminary estimates and marking the first monthly decline since September 2023, following a 0.4% rise in April.
