TRANSPARENT TRADING COSTS

Know your costs.
Trade with clarity.

Understanding the costs of trading is essential. At Today Markets, we aim to present our pricing, spreads, commissions, rollovers and other charges clearly, so you can make informed trading decisions.

Our Trading Costs

An organised trader should understand the charges and fees they may encounter. We believe trading costs should be presented clearly and transparently, allowing you to understand how pricing works before you open a position.

Flexible Account Solutions

When you open an account with Today Markets, you are in control of the pricing model that best suits your trading style.

Rollover Rates

What are rollover rates?

Rollovers are typically the interest charged or earned for holding positions overnight. We strive to keep your trading costs low by sourcing institutional rollover rates and passing them to you at a competitive price.

You can earn or pay when a rollover is applied to your position. Rollovers are only applied to open trades at 5pm ET.

Other brokers may calculate rollovers continuously, potentially raising your trading costs. Rollover rates may vary depending on market conditions, holidays, month-end adjustments and the number of days being rolled.

Indicative Metals Rollover Rates

Direct Trading Charges

Spreads

Every market has two prices — the buy price and the sell price. The spread is the difference between these two prices.

Variable Spreads

Variable spreads may fluctuate throughout the trading day depending on market conditions, liquidity and volatility.

Commissions

Stock CFDs are the only asset class where a commission is charged. For most US stocks, the commission is 1.8 cents per share. For most UK, EU and Asian stocks, the commission is 0.08% of consideration. Minimum commission rates are 5 of the stock's base currency.

Rollovers & Financing Adjustments

When you hold a position overnight, you may pay or receive a rollover fee, also known as a financing charge.

How financing works

Rollovers are applied to positions open at market close in New York, at 5pm ET. The swap adjustment reflects the day-to-day cost of carry. Intraday trades do not incur rollover charges.

Long positions are credited or debited by: -1 × trade size × swap points in the unit quote currency.

Short positions are credited or debited by: trade size × swap points in the unit quote currency.

Financing rates

UK: SONIA +2.5% for long positions and SONIA -2.5% for short positions.

US: SOFR +2.5% for long positions and SOFR -2.5% for short positions.

EU: €STR +2.5% for long positions and €STR -2.5% for short positions.

Other International: Contact Client Services.

How Are Finance Rates Calculated?

Financing charges for positions which remain open at our market close are calculated using the following formula:

Short Positions F = V × I / b

Long Positions F = V × I / b

F = Daily Financing Fee
V = Value of equivalent quantity × end-of-day closing price
I = Applicable Financing Rate
b = Day basis for currency — 365 for GBP, HKD and AUD, and 360 for all other currencies.

The daily financing fee is applied for each day that you hold an open position, including weekend days. Financing rates are set at benchmark regional interest rate +/- 2.5%.

Financing on Hedged Trades

If you have a hedged position open overnight, overnight financing will be charged on both sides of the trade.

Dividend Adjustments

When trading share CFDs, you do not receive dividends because you do not own the underlying stock. Instead, a dividend adjustment is made to reflect the impact of the dividend on the share price.

Inactivity Fees

A fee of $15 per month is charged to accounts after there has been no trading activity for 12 months. Activity includes placing a trade and/or maintaining an open position.

Other Trading Costs

Back to Base

With CFD trading, profit or loss may be denominated in the currency of the instrument traded. Realised profits, losses, adjustments, fees and charges denominated in another currency may be converted back into the base currency of your account.

Borrowing Costs

Borrowing costs may be incurred when you short a share CFD position. These reflect charges in the underlying market when the underlying asset is borrowed in order to sell and return at a later date.

Commodity Basis Adjustments

When trading spot commodity markets, daily adjustments may be made to reflect the movement between the front-month and far-month futures contracts.
